Last month's U.S. Open tennis tournament divided all who watched it, when Serena Williams was given three code violations for ‘outbursts’ on the court, leading Naomi Osaka to achieve a victory against her.
On the one hand, people came out in droves to defend Williams, saying . In : ‘There are men out here that do a lot worse, but because I’m a woman, because I’m a woman you’re going to take this away from me?'
Others, including a , thought Williams’ actions were simply immature and spoilt.
One of the people who, unsurprisingly, has demonstrated a proud defence of Williams is her husband Alexis Ohanian.
The Reddit co-founder responded to a Tweet earlier in the week by Alabama State Senate District 7 Deborah Barros that read, ‘Funny how a black female tennis player is held to a higher standard to keep her emotions in check than a Supreme Court nominee.’
He wrote back, 'It's not funny, it's bullshit.'
Ohanian went off in his Twitter, driving his points home:
Referencing Brett Kavanaugh, the Tweets point to the recently-appointed Supreme Court Justice's temperament during his judiciary hearing.
After being accused of sexual assault, the Yale-educated ex-Jock was during his questioning.
Unfortunately, the Senate did not think there was anything wrong with Kavanaugh's behaviour, and he was sworn in this morning.
