In an Instagram post after news of his appointment came to light, Beckham wrote:
'I’ve been lucky enough to meet and work with many serving, veteran and wounded British armed forces personnel over the years and I’ve been humbled by the courage, resilience and spirit shown by each and every one of them.'
While it's yet to be revealed whether Victoria will definitely be joining her hubby 'Down Under', the pair have , so we wouldn't be surprised if the duo combine work and play during David's important trip.
Despite Meghan's busy schedule during the 16-day tour, the visit might serve as the perfect opportunity for her to catch up with new pal, Victoria, months after the Beckhams were spotted together at the Duchess' royal wedding in May.
The pair reportedly struck up a friendship after the 42-year-old mother-of-four gave Markle a list of exclusive salon names in London for her to visit in the early days of her settling into life in Blighty.
With a self-proclaimed love of facials, having once revealed Nichola Joss' London-based facial to be her favourite on her , the actress also has been taking tips on where to pamper herself in her new hometown.
A royal insider reportedly told the publication: 'Meghan has been really pleased with Victoria's beauty recommendations and has her to thank for meeting new friends in London.
'They have grown close and regularly text after Victoria told Meghan to visit Sarah Chapman, who bills herself 'London's most sought-after facialist'. Meghan trusts and appreciates her advice. She is even thinking about using Victoria's hairdresser over the Christmas period.'
In the lead up to the royal wedding, a source told Markle regularly .
'They get along well and have been in touch recently,' a source claimed.
'Meghan really likes Victoria's style and was keen to pick her brains about pulling together a working wardrobe. She loves Victoria's elegant but smart dresses, so expect her to wear one very soon.'
Of course, this wasn't the first time the 37-year-old had shown a love for Beckham's designs, having worn a Victoria Beckham knit in her engagement portraits with Prince Harry.
Following the royal wedding, Victoria Beckham also gave her two cents on , weeks after it was rumoured she may have been a contender to design the gown.
